Textile Arts

Audrey is skilled in creative textile arts. Her works use mixed media and take considerable time and effort to complete. She began experimenting with textiles by making original clothing pieces when she learned to sew as a teen. Now her work is focused on embroidery arts and macrame pieces, but Audrey will still make unique Halloween costumes.

Jean skirt and off the shoulder top Audrey sewed this outfit herself. Both the top and skirt demonstrated advanced sewing skills including: working with knit fabric, fraying, installing grommets and altering the pattern.	Jean Skirt and off the shoulder top back view This is a back view of the jean skirt and off the shoulder top. Audrey used two different colors of fabric for the pockets and contrasted the dark and white fraying of the front of the skirt.
Aquarius Zodiac Embroidery A 5 inch embroidery hoop holds a circular design of the Aquarius zodiac. A jug of water is stitched spilling water, the word "Aquarius" is stitched.	6 Macrame hangers 6 Macrame hangers in different styles and cord color are displayed on a coat rack.
Nevada State Embroidery The outline of the state of Nevada is stitched on a white canvas. native wildflowers are stitched in the foreground, the background depicts the Sierra Nevada mountains with the sun setting in the background.	Abstract Embroidery oval hoop An oval embroidery hoop has gold, purple, maroon and blue swatches of acrylic paint scraped randomly over the canvas. Simple knots and wave patterns are stitched on top to add depth.
Tennessee State Embroidery The state of Tennessee is stitched in ombre blue. Peeking behind the state is the state flower, the Iris. Its long green leaves overlap the state and the purple flower petals drape over the top of the state.	Brain embroidery design A pink brain is stitched on a tiny 4-inch hoop. A red poppy garnishes the brain on the top right side.
Virgo Zodiac Embroidery A 5-inch embroidery hoop holds a circular design of the Virgo zodiac. A woman holding a flower with wispy hair blowing in the wind is stitched, the word "Virgo" is stitched.	Georgia State Embroidery The outline of the state of Georgia is stitched on a tiny 4-inch hoop. The state flower is stitched in the middle.
California State Embroidery The outline of the state of California is stitched on a tiny 4-inch hoop. The state flower, the Poppy, is stitched in the middle.	Embroidery sweatshirts on models Two models wear pink sweatshirts with embroidered designs.

Mushroom Sweatshirt A pink sweatshirt with three red mushrooms. The mushroom in the middle is larger than the two flanking its side. They are red with white spots. Tiny sprigs of grass pop up between them. A daisy chain of green petals surrounds the design in a complete circle.

Carrots Embroidery Design Two carrots are intertwined. On the left is a purple carrot, and on the right is an orange carrot. Watercolor paint gives the inside of the carrots and their green tops color. Green, purple and orange embroidery thread add definition to the carrots. Brown speckles made by watercolor drops surround the carrots.	Abstract Jean Embroidery Two different colors and textures of jean fabric and burlap are overlapped and pressed into an embroidery hoop. Abstract lines and swirls connect the different fabrics. The design is unfinished with excess fabric hanging off the side.
